- I am a fiction author looking to create a website and accompanying social media brand to host my creative content. The website will primarily host short stories that are linked from quotes and snippets I post on the accompanying social media account.
I have the core graphical assets already designed.
My vision for this website is to adapt the mobile-friendly, tiled format that Buzzfeed uses to link out from their Instagram. As far as the menu navigation would go, I'd want it minimal with just a running, categorized archive and an about me.
I’m trying to engage the modern reader with short and flash fiction, and in anticipation of most readers reaching me on their phones, mobile optimization is a must. I want the website to be able to scroll well, with the right contrast on the screen for pleasant reading.
The goal is to generate traffic by way of Instagram, from a new page I’m creating that is formatted similarly to pages like Overheard LA, or Tinder Nightmares. IE, most of my posts are text-based.
I’d like the back-end of the site to allow for scheduled posting on the accompanying Instagram page, so I can plot out posts for a whole week. If the website itself has capabilities to drive traffic to it through the Instagram page, that would be ideal.
Ultimately, this brand is meant to be used as a professional portfolio. In the meantime, I’d like a way to accept donations. At first I’d like it to just be cold drops, through PayPal or even Venmo. Eventually I will actively push a Patreon account through the Instagram page.
