We are now working on a fantasy themed game called "Magic Money." In this game, players are Wizards at an auction vying to acquire as many magical beasts as they can for their mystical menageries.
This is a larger freelance position – looking for one illustrator to create 21 unique illustrations (One for each creature in the game). The style we are aiming for falls on the cel shaded spectrum – ideally something like the style used in the French ”wakfu” cartoons or Dofus MMORPG also seen in modern Pokemon cards.
This project offers a lot of creative freedom - each creature is required to showcase certain traits (like horns, wings, and scales). We give you the name of each creature (based on classical mythology), the required elements, a short description, and you are off to the races! We will work with you extensively on the first illustrations to get a style that works, and then let you work your magic to complete the remaining pictures in that style.
The illustrations will need a simple background, and be big enough to cover a tarot sized card (70mm x 210mm) in CMYK at 300DPI. We will provide more detailed art direction and full list of creatures as a follow up.
