- Description: Two days of pencil drawing by an illustrator needed.
The job is to provide EIGHT hand-drawn sketches, A5 size or smaller to depict characters in scenes of a young adult fictional novel. The drawings need to be extremely simple in pencil only. An example of similar drawings can be provided to potential illustrators. The drawings are there only to support the written text of the story.
List of scenes to be drawn:
1. A half Elephant, half-horse creature sitting in a fridge with its feet in a slab of butter.*
2. 14-year-old boy Dylan climbing through a black portal from the living world on earth to the afterlife.*
3. An evil half lamb, half mosquito assassin sucks out the soul of a woman made of jelly using its sharp mosquito tail.
4. 14-year-old boy Dylan and a Stick Insect meeting the angel Gabrielle in a cloud. Gabrielle is a woman with a beard and mechanical wings.*
5. A cow jumping into a river of souls at the Black Tower soul storage facility.
6. A sinister Bank Manager and her Bull assistant in her office.
7. 14-year-old boy Dylan and a stick insect standing in front of a giant dog’s head that is an island in the sea.
8. A room, half tennis court, half law court, with a fridge at the net and a scorpion in a headband hitting potatoes instead of tennis balls.
The draft written text of scenes from the book will be provided to the illustrator so they can better get a feel for the look of the characters and locations.
THIS BOOK IS CURRENTLY UNSIGNED BY AN AGENT OR PUBLISHER. You will be asked to sign over the copyright to your sketches but your contact details will be passed to any agent and/or publisher that may purchase the novel in the future. With the view that if they like your work, a deal could be done directly between you and the publisher for, redoing or elaborating on the sketches or generating new sketches for new scenes and characters.
