- Looking for an experienced pattern maker to help us create the design tech pack for a new dog bed. If this project goes well, additional work will be available for different sizes and designs.
Required experience and skills:
(1) Experience with soft goods / bedding pattern design, especially cushions, pillows, etc. The pattern design will need to integrate with and support memory foam.
(2) Experience working with upholstery-grade fabrics, including microfiber.
(3) Experience integrating fasteners such as zippers.
(4) Experience with mass production, including an understanding of industrial sewing techniques and ability to create a technical document that can be used by a cut & sew manufacturer.
(5) Ability to convert product conceptual ideas into executable design.
(6) Ability to explain design choices and patiently iterate if needed.
(7) Attention to detail.
(8) Ability to use digital pattern making software (e.g. Gerber Accumark or similar) is a plus.
