- I seek a 2d conceptual artist to render a series of color sketches from multiple perspectives of a fantasy object, the Seed of Life (SOL), which is to serve as a unifying image for a forthcoming line of multimedia stories. Artist should identify with the categories bio-cenric, metamorphic, elemental, and fantasy. Bio-centric implies comfort rendering realistic biological elements from all branches of the tree of life; metamorphic implies the ability to recognize—and play creatively—with continuities and resemblances of form among and between living and “non-living” components of the universe; elemental implies skill at the primordial attributes of fire, water, air, and water; and fantasy requires experience at bringing something new and unique into existence. Designer will work with my original art, previously commissioned art, and detailed descriptions to get it just right.
The job entails two sections: complete views and partial view sequences. For the complete views, I seek 3 drawings of the entire SOL, from three different angles. For the partial view sequences, I require three sets of five or more drawings. Each of these sets will focus on one section of the SOL—for instance, a spherical central element—and envision its change/growth/transformation were movement to be applied—for instance, with the spherical central element, the movement would be rotation. As it rotates, the sphere may hint of resemblance to the Earth, the Sun, a droplet, a fruit, a cell, the yin/yang symbol, etc.
Digital work is preferred, because images will be source material for development of a high-resolution, 3d, rotatable color media object, with eventual motion elements. Preferred is that the artist have detailed knowledge about the interface between 2d and 3d, and good communication skills; consultation/familiarization is part of the bid. Of highest importance is that I resonate with your portfolio, so if you work non-digitally but really think you are the artist for this job, please make contact.
