- I would love to have some concept digital art done of a fantasy wooden mask, 6 - 10 different designs.
I’m in the middle of putting a kickstarter together to film a fantasy short film based on a novel I’m about to release.
The mask is the most important thing in the story. It will be an amazing scene in the film when the main character finally puts the mask on. It needs to be right.
In the story a witch lives in a cottage in the woods. She carves magical wooden masks that have cat ears, no mouth hole, rustic and a small amount of paint (Impasto) to make it look like a cat. I’ve been working with different artists but haven’t quite found the look I want and need some help.

Small outline of the story.
Everything I had ever known had turned to darkness, all colours vanished into nothing. I grew up with Knights protecting our castle, hundreds of them, they were my heroes. But when I turned seven everything went wrong. Carlial pirates attacked the village, they sent randeer wolves onto us. No would could help, Mother couldn't do a thing. She watched, screamed and coward as they mauled me. I tried to push them away, I was too weak… The pirates and wolves were eventually run back to their boats but I was left blind.
For the last seven years I’ve lived in darkness. Mother has always blamed herself, she shouldn’t though, because for as long as I can remember tails whispered around the town that a witch lived in a mysterious cottage in the mountains of the scarlet moon on the coast of Black Rock. The stories told that she crafted wooden masks painted with beautiful cat-like faces bound with magic so powerful that whoever wore them would see the world in a different light; anyone who was blind would see again. Storybooks, poems and songs were all written and sung about the mystical witch, and all ended with the same eerie words: A mask may be received but a life must be given.
What was I to make of this? How could this folklore be true? Mother believes it is and tonight we escape the castle and search for the witch. Will you join me?
