- I need a high quality book cover for a novel which is currently in the final stages of editing. Note: cover will be used for both paperback and e-reader versions of the novel.
DESCRIPTION of the book:
Jag in the Turn chronicles the adventures of three fifteen year old students. Jag, academically successful but socially challenged; his best friend, Freddie Patel, easy going, sport loving ‘bloke’; and their classmate; Gillian, a smart, strong willed young lady with a temper problem.
During a dust up with the local bully the three seek to escape by running down a disused railway tunnel. In the confusion they lose each other and end up in a strange parallel universe (the Turn). They are eventually taken in by the leaders of an agricultural region called Mensa. The region is part of an alliance (the Cirque) which is losing a war with a rebel axis who are intent on destroying the democracy that has served the Turn so well for many hundreds of years.
The leaders promise to try and help return the students to their world, but it soon becomes apparent that the three have skills which could help the alliance put down the rebel forces.
The students have to negotiate their way around this new world; figure out who they can and can’t trust; help uncover a traitor and finally, look to the past to solve a puzzle that will help them locate and return to the Cirque an artifact that has the power to help them put down the rebels.
Along the way they meet a host of disparate characters, including the rebel leader’s psychotic henchman, some telepathic giants, farm workers who double up as militia, a peace loving cult who find themselves at the sharp end of the upcoming conflict, and a lone vigilante, known as ‘the vicar’ who is attempting to purge the Turn of anyone he deems to be evil.

Images should have a minimum resolution of 300 PPI (pixels per inch).

Artistic Brief:
JAG IN THE TURN
The three main characters running into a disused railway tunnel which burrows into a typical English farmland hill. The viewer will see them from behind. The tunnel entrance is located in a rural location and is constructed with red brick which is in a state of decay ( ivy growing on it). Just above the tunnel embedded in the brick above the entrance is a worn logo of a man in victorian clothing holding a sun dial. The original railway tracks are long gone and the path it used to take is heavily encroached on by nature. The three teenagers are all fifteen years old and are wearing school uniform and back packs.
Jag (male) is 5ft 6 inches tall, medium build and neatly presented with a mop of dark curly hair.
Freddie (male) is an athletic 5ft 8 inches with long dark hair. He is scruffy - one of the straps on his back pack is broken.
Gillian (female) is 5ft 2 inches, slim and well presented with medium length brown hair.
The front cover should include text:
JAG IN THE TURN (the title in a large font)
CHRIS DAVY (in a smaller font)
THE FONTS USED SHOULD BE COPYRIGHT FREE
The spine should have the same two items plus logo -see below.
The back cover needs to be ready for text (yet to be finalized). But there will probably be several lines, likely an excerpt from a review.(It will need to be updated after the contract is awarded).
2. LOGO: Use your artistic flair to design a unique logo utilizing the letters C and D together.

The winning design will be one that stands out as both a paperback cover and an e-book cover. The picture should convey the spookiness and mysterious vibe of the scene.
