- Have you worked with AdWords for charities before?
We are a small charity based in England who were lucky enough to get access to a Google Grants package for AdWords, meaning we get $10k ads per month for free. We were maintaining it ourselves for some time, but then Google changed the terms of the grant and it has been languishing around ever since!
Without wanting to bore you, we lost a lot of traffic when Google decided that keywords needed a 5% CTR and actually lost our advertising spend for a few days when our overall CTR dropped below that level. We had to delete a lot of our keywords that were less than 5% before they would return our ads. Any research we have done has thrown up poor quality or low CTR keywords which would damage our Grants account, we don't know if our specific area of work is just a low search field and AdWords is not a right fit for us or if we just aren't using it right.
The ads we have setup are less than finessed, are not really driving much traffic and probably need scrapping, however it is clear we don't have the skills in house to do this. We did use a small company for a short while (3 months) who are based in our office complex, but we never really knew what they did and never saw any sort of ROI.
We don't have a massive budget so couldn't afford a full service monitoring job, but we are looking for a research, setup and 6 monthly 'heath check' type service. The aim isn't to maximise conversions necessarily, although this would be great, we want to drive more traffic and use up more of the £10k per month grant with higher quality keywords.
