Refine A Successful Romance Novel/Series

Description
I have a three-book series completed in draft, the first of which has received 5 out of six encouraging "enjoyed with minor recommendations" critiques (Fiverr Beta Readers) in the Romance/(Erotica) genre. The second's sole reviewer so far has again thoroughly enjoyed it. We are waiting on further reviews. Each book is approximately 60k words.

I would like to find a female author (editor+) who would like to co-author for a share of royalties. I find drafting/storytelling to be easy, but finalizing to be tedious. Would be perfect for a Completer/Finisher personality type, with a creative bent.

The task will be deemed complete and payment made entirely within the fee and payment structure of the Guru.com site. No obligation to make payments will extend beyond the completion of the task. This is to remain compliant with Guru.com requirements. Commissioning the project, acceptance of the work and payment for that work will be conducted entirely within Guru.com. This comprises the fee component of the project.

Goodwill rewards are available to the task completer. This is the royalty component. These payments will not be made through Guru.com. These payments comprise voluntary gifts from myself as thanks for a successful and high quality work in recognition of such.

These payments will not be made as payments for completed work, all of which will already have been paid for within the context of Guru.com. The candidate will not be required to undertake work to receive these payments. Since the candidate will not do work to receive these payments they do not constitute a project or task within Guru.com. Since the candidate will already have completed their work and been paid within Guru.com these will not be payments for said work. In short, these are a voluntary thank you for quality work.

If Guru.com should object to such, then we will no longer offer such rewards to candidates.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to receive a passive income from a growing series of books (book 4 already started, a new book taking about a week to write).

The successful candidate will be:
a) female
b) a native English speaker (order of preference: US, Canada, UK, Australia, NZ) to combat my UK English style/English and refine for the US market
c) have a robust, confident character with sense of humour and comfortable with sex/sensuality in novels - that's our female lead, so it makes sense to have an affinity for same
d) be tolerant of a bolshy, distracted, business-oriented male with little time for romance - that's our male lead (and perhaps a little too close to the author)
e) get that life can be a tumbling roller-coaster ride, but somehow people still manage to come out smiling, eventually - this isn't a simple 'gosh I love you' HEA
f) be willing to offer a challenging story to the reader, with uncertainty, setbacks, irritation, frustration, humour, heart-warming moments, ambiguity, and a sense of hope that things will work out, somehow

The successful candidate will be expected to:
I. Enjoy the draft as written - if not, it's unreasonable to expect an easy edit
II. Be informed by and use the draft to the greatest extent possible
III. Add sections where the candidate really would love the reader to learn more
IV. Drop or substantially reduce sections which distract from the reading experience
V. Revise the male/US characters' vernacular into appropriate US slang/jargon/usage
VI. Respect the plot structure inasmuch as there are sequels already written

This is more than an edit, less than starting a new book project from scratch.

Feedback from Beta readers will be available to inform the candidate.

The candidate is being offered an opportunity to fast-track to published author (ghost) with a share of royalties.
All rights will be reserved by myself.
All marketing costs will be born by myself.

The royalty structure applies both to this specific project and to authors wishing to submit books entirely of their own creation.

Three cost/reward profiles are available:
1. Pure fee - state a price (ie: a normal job)
2. Fee + 10% Royalty over $500 per quarter (latter to eliminate small payments)
3. Fee + 25% Royalty over $500 per quarter (ditto)

The Fee for 25% Royalty should be lower than that for 10% Royalty.

In order to demonstrate that you have read and understand the details of this task, please respond with answers to the following questions:

1. Are you willing to read one or all three of the novels to acquaint yourself with the draft, and if so, do you wish to charge for such, and if so, how much would you charge?

2. Please provide two samples of your writing in the Romance/(Erotica) style

3. Would you like to establish a long-term working relationship for repeat business including completing at least the first three drafts

4. Does the 'fasttrack' challenge of refining a draft into a novel you'd like to read interest you, or would you rather create books of your own

5. If you would like to submit a bid for original work please indicate that

6. Will you agree and confirm in writing (email acceptable) that you will keep the draft confidential, will not seek to use it other than in support of this project, and will respect the original author's rights (my rights) in regard to copy, and will not seek to use the draft or any derivative work in works which are wholly or partly distributed other than by myself

7. Do you agree to waive all rights in regard to the work save only that I will commit to pay royalties per the agreed schedule

8. Do you understand that the final agreement to pay royalties is conditional on the work submitted being appealing and acceptable to myself. If I confirm that it is, then royalties will be paid once the book is marketed.

9. If the work is not acceptable you will be informed. Another author will necessarily be engaged who will receive the full benefit as to royalties as set out here. The fee part will always be paid as set out below.

10. The fee part of the reward structure will be deemed to comprise the full payment for your work and all rights to your work will be held entire by myself. Fees will always be paid in full provided that a reasonable best-effort has been made with demonstrable submission. In case of doubt, the Guru site's conflict resolution procedures will apply.

11. The royalty part of the reward structure is to be regarded as a goodwill element to encourage acceptance of the project, completion of the project to a good quality, and long-term engagement as co-author for future projects. Submission of a completed document does not constitute a right to the royalties, which will only be granted if the work is declared by myself to be the substantive completed document to be published without material changes.

12. All work will be paid for, provided it is of reasonable quality (see 10). The payment of royalties will occur as an acknowledgement by myself of the value of the co-authoring process and as recognition for quality work. The payment of royalties is always at my discretion up to the point that I declare the work to be of high quality and meriting royalties.

13. Once I agree that we have created a product between us that merits publication and payment of royalties, then royalties will be paid quarterly (calendar basis) at the declared ratio on the amount exceeding the threshold.

14. The threshold (here $500 or as otherwise agreed) is to avoid repeated minor payments.

The goals of this project are:
A. To discover a capable, effective woman author who understands the purpose of the project (revise and enhance a draft to be a pleasurable read for a woman in the Romance/Erotica genre)

B. To refine the first draft to a high quality publishable standard

C. To develop a long-term working relationship for this series of books and other such books that I may draft

D. To reward a gifted and effective author appropriately by a combination of upfront fees and a share of royalties to recognise the long-term value of a published work

Please confirm that you have read and understood this briefing.
