- I am a european-based american citizen, soon moving back to New York. I would like to start a social events brand, as a business. To be more specific, my objective is planning and hosting my own parties, once a month, as a means of generating profit through ticket sales. There are vast options in New York when it comes to the social scene, but European top-notch nightlife is a high standard to live up to. In Europe, more and more people are turning to private parties, rather than clubs. Socialite-entrepreuners start their own brand of events and host every month, in beautiful, over-the-top venues, with excentric, but elegant themes, specific dress code, and an over-all luxurious experience. This spans from modern-minimalist decor to the most opulent, baroque setting. Personally, I would like to combine social life with the arts. Think art or photography expositions/auctions, immersive theatre, fashion/jewlery expositions, provocative and intelligent entertainment, combined with jaw-dropping projection-mapping and lighting, great quality music by well-known DJs, exotic bar mixology and culinary experiences, and much more. Think MET Gala, but at a smaller scale and of course more accesible. You don't have to be a celebrity or a billionare to have a memorable, sophisticated experience. I think it is a great way for people with similar interests and tastes to meet up, socialize, merge friendships and business colaborations. By the end of the year, the goal is to host a NYE party that would generate a substantial income part of which will go to charity, and infiltrate the NYC nighlife as a high-concept, top-notch event brand. The ideal is to attract sponsors that would fully fund the events in exchange for visibility and brand-awareness, the audience being New York's elite and high-spenders. What I lack in event experience, I make up for in vision, decor (I am an architect) and concept.
