- Description
- A wordpress backend developer is needed to create a backend of a bespoke wordpress site. The website will be publishing sports news and specific topic based information regarding different teams, sports and events.
The developer must have a very good knowledge of the recent versions of wordpress and programming languages used in WP development and WP plugin development as well as server understanding. The website will be run on it’s own cloud server and therefore some understanding of this is required (the server is already sourced).
THIS IS NOT A TEMPLATE PROJECT! The frontend of the site is already developed in HTML and CSS and will now need connecting to the wordpress CMS. Anyone proposing their own bespoke design/frontend/template will not be considered.
The site itself will have some 6 to 8 basic pages (like landing page, all teams page, rankings page) and 6 to 8 template based pages (articles, each teams’ own page, sport’s specific page, event page). All pages are defined and will be made available (definitions and documentation) to the developer together with a as many sessions with me and my team as needed for the developer.
This is a community driven project and this is phase 1 of our strategy.
Specifically following will be needed:
--Creating WP structure and connecting to front end making it into a functioning website including infinite scrolling on selected pages
--Developing internal wordpress control pages for the content (including easy ranking adjustment, article publication approval, contributor -article writing- page with topic tags, adverts management page, contributor and role management page, team creation, sport creation and, similar)
--Creating a number of roles with different access rights
--Ensuring very fast response time of the system with potential expected daily footfall of around 10,000 users/readers
--Ensuring security of the system
--Proposing and developing solutions to encountered problems
--Helping to install a backup system
--Ensuring analytics incorporation (potentially with a plugin)
--Incorporating ad rotation plugin and modifying these to suit or needs or developing bespoke ones
--Proposing other plugins to simplify the implementation
--ensuing SEO for each page
The successful developer will, if we are happy with your work, be asked to continue working on the project over the next phases.
