- Hi,
firstly I know the 'Million Dollar Homepage' site concept has been copied many times with little success...but i do have a unique, very topical slant on it which I think might just work.
Ok, to begin, on the Homepage you are greeted by just a large image covering the entire screen e.g. of a cat. Underneath that image (and so not visible) is another image with the exact same dimensions of e.g. a dog.
The idea is that people can select pixels of the top (cat) image which when purchased become transparent and so reveal that 5 pixel square section of the dog image beneath. When all the pixels of the cat image are sold then all that is left on the webpage is a picture of a dog. With me so far? Great.
Now, when someone purchases a block of pixels ( cost goes up the more pixels purchased, same as Million Dollar Homepage) they can then upload an image, link, text or whatever which will then appear whenever anyone rolls over their block of pixels.
There will also have to be the usual share icons so that people can tell their friends and hopefully draw them to the site.
As in MDHPage when all the pixels are sold and the image beneath ( in this scenario the dog) is fully revealed then the site will be complete and that's that.
Not a complicated site at all. My pal said he's do it, but that's next month and I want it done before then as time is of the essence.
I've added some images to give you a better idea.
1. Top image. Again, dog image is 'underneath' waiting to be revealed.
2. Note: editing eraser only had a circle tool, but dots will actually be squares...you get the idea I'm sure. The lady in the pic has purchased this particular square of pixels, thus removing them exposing the teeny bit of dog underneath. She's uploaded her image and this is what happens when someone rolls over her pixels...up she pops.
3. All the cat pixels have been sold/made transparent and so now only the dog is visible. Again, at the moment the cursor happens to be on this young lady's pixels, but anywhere it goes on the image other faces/links etc will appear.
Btw , just to be clear...the two images won't be a cat and a dog, these are just for example.
