- Hi.
This project involves moving my site, maskinvurdering.dk to my Synology NAS. It is currently on an external webserver and additional S3 server (photos).
I need to recreate existing online reports, so that I can send new links to reports to clients once the project is completed.
The front end now has Squarespace, but I would like another design as well. I just do not know if it should be Wordpress, because there is also a backend, that I need to move.
The backend is a machine valuation editing and report system based on using excel for data editing and validation and currently filezilla for photo upload to the photo server. Photo names before the asterix .jpg are used to put the photos with the correct item.
Validation procedures are used to validate for missing or repeating photos or photo names outside the normal scope (max. 4 digits).
Also validation is used to flag if valuation data varies too much from what might be expected to prevent typing errors as much as possible.
The administrator can logon and create profiles with editing privileges only. Users can be administered by the administrator.
New valuation projects start with project creation. This opens edit forms for introduction and item line editing online as well as import/export option for the excel editing file associated with the project.
When importing the excel file it opens a page to confirm the data. This shows the content of the report without photos. If confirmed then the first sequense is automatic photo editing (resizing photos to various formats and places to be displayed). When this process is done then this is confirmed by a message.
In case the valuation shows picture errors (missing photos according to the photo reference or same photo used more than once, then an error listing is displayed with instruction as how to correct the mistakes by either uploading the missing photos or editing the excel sheet. When done the editor can try reuploading and reimporting the data from the excel sheet.
In case of a flag about values in the report is displayed the administrator can chose to either edit the values or disregard the warning. In case of editing the values this is done in the excel file and reuploading the file. In case of warning override this is done by confirming online that the values are OK. This procedure is ment to safeguard against mistyping - like missing a zero or a zero too much in a value compared with the two other values of the report. It is a way to assist proofreading.
Valuation master page lists valuation projects by ID number. Rows are Title and Editing options. Editing options are Text editing of the initial text in two sections in Danish and English. Editing of valuation prices. This is done by having 3 prices for the same item depending on the valuation is 1) going concern, 2) Targeted sale by negotiation or 3) Liquidation (by auction). This section also displays the category from the excel sheet, the item description (text) and photos. Next editing option is line editing. This is essentially the same as the excel sheet, only it is online editing of fields and photos. The fields are ID, Category, Text, Going Concern, Negotiated sale and Liquidation. Photo editing is file upload and deleting.
The English language part of the valuation has not been fully developed, but I would like it to be.
What is currently missing is an option to upload source data for the valuation. This is usually pdf's with screenshots as well as a time log and editor log. This is for stating the time the data was collected and by whom. There should be a note for additional information, which is internal for the valuation company. This could be info about how this information was obtained or considerations by the valuer. The source of the information data should not be included into the report by default. However they should be made available for a report in case the valuation is questioned or taken to court by the client.
The reporting is a page with options to 1) view initial text to the report, 2) view asset list including values, 3) asset list without values, 4) asset list including values and photos, 5) asset list without values and photos 5) Forward selected (type of report).
The forward selected report has two options: report excluding values and report including values. This is because not all receiving the report should know the prices listed in the valuation. Only reports including values should be forwarded with forwarding option. This allows the client to distribute the report including values for internal use. Receivers are identified by email. In case of multiple receivers the emails are comma separated. In addition there is a note field by which the forwarder can communicate or send instructions to the receiver by the same email.
The category is used to first of all tell what sort of item is valued and also to sort and filter the items. The items are sorted and filtered alphabetically by category. In the report listing page including values, the values per category should be summarized as well as the grand total.
The excel sheet also has a column for customer ID - that is the ID used by the customer for the item in question. This makes it easier for the customer to identify the item in his/her internal system.
At present there is no pdf print option for the report, but it should be included.
