SpamAssassin and email security

- I have MDaemon mail server installed & running at my company for 400 users. Don't worry if you aren't familiar with that server; its tools are the similar to what you might find in other email servers. SpamAssassin is the built-in filtering system and seems to work. But there is still a problem with lots of spam getting through.
My users can mark emails as spam which puts them into the Spamassassin Bayesian Learning folder, but overall Bayesian learning doesn't seem to work as expected. Items such as fake ransomware, email containing non-ASCII text, image spam, mortgage spam, small cap stocks, UCBE, etc. always make it through.
I acknowledge that the tools in this mail server implementation might not accomplish the level of spam filtering like a cloud service, but it's also possible I don't have things configured optimally which is causing spam to get through.
I'm looking for someone who knows SpamAssassin along with other email security measures who can spend time to examine current settings and evaluate ways to improve spam filtering. Specifically:
- Review current spam filtering settings
- Review how I've implemented SPF, DKIM, DMARC and see whether improvements can be made.
- Be interactive and conversational so I can learn what your recommended changes will do and how they would improve my current implementation.
Timeframe:
I’ve been dealing with the current spam load for the past 5 months so a few days or weeks won’t matter – but I’d like to tackle it as soon as possible.
Deliverable:
This is basically an investigation of my current implementation of SpamAssassin, URIBL, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, authentication, and to identify and help implement potential improvements.
Payment terms:
Please provide a general estimate of time to investigate, question, and review potential changes. This would get things started with hourly billing thereafter (no set estimate).
