- I am looking for a freelancer who has experience with both ESP-IDF and Arduino core files to help me with a project. The main requirement for this project is to create a high-level interrupt setup routine for use with the Arduino IDE, NOT the Espressif ESP-IDF framework (although you will end up needing to call the ESP-IDF commands, by including the required header files). The ESP32-S2 will be used, which is slightly different from the normal ESP32 since it has only a single core setup.
Please note that level 5 interrupt code can only be done in assembly code (this is a requirement of any level 5 or NMI interrupt with the ESP32 family). I can handle the assembly code portion. You can use any generic assembly code stub for testing, or I can provide one for you.
There needs to be two different setup routines. One for capturing a GPIO state change, and the other for a timer alarm (timeout).
I need to be able to attach and detach the interrupt so I can use different interrupt handlers. Because this is a level 5 interrupt, I do not believe you can use the normal "attachInterrupt" and "detachInterrupt" functions that the Arduino core normally uses. From what I have determined you have to do this using the ESP-IDF functions (which is why you need to know that framework as well).
This whole project is probably 50 lines or less of code (not including the assembly code, which I can do). I just need to know how to attach a level 5 interrupt handler using the Arduino IDE. This can be done with the ESP-IDF, but I can't use that framework! Keep in mind that I need to be able to change which ISR is being used anytime I need to.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Experience with ESP32, ESP32-S2 and both ESP-IDF and Arduino core files
- Strong understanding of GPIO and timer interrupt setups
- Knowledge of assembly code
- Ability to write efficient and clean code
