- I am a sound engineer who is also a classic car builder and what I have designed, coded and built is a virtual fuel gauge for vintage cars that utilizes an Arduino with Bluetooth Low Energy and a custom analog sensor to communicate to the iOS app. I have a finished and working version of this app but it uses UDP over WifI and I wanted to switch it to BLE and also convert it to Swift 5 for overall better performance and stability.
The app also has a speedometer built into the app and everything is working great except one thing that I can not figure out. I have a value range coming from the sensor(0-1023) and it is being received via the BLE to the app but it is not moving the Gauge Needle in the ViewController. I'm sure it is some kind of casting or perhaps a problem with an optional but I can't find the problem. I'm sure an experienced coder will probably find my problem pretty quickly.
If we can fix the Needle move problem quickly I would also like to see about providing different "Gauge Styles" to the user by either swiping or picking the different styles by clicking different thumbnails if that is possible. I am open to ideas on this part an I will handle the graphics for the different "Gauge Styles".
Because this is a hardware/software solution, we will have to work together in testing as you would have to email me your updated code so I can test it with my microprocessor and sensor. If you are local to Burbank, CA then perhaps I cold bring my hardware test setup to you for testing purposes.
I hope there is someone out there who likes tech and vintage cars like me who might want to help me finish this really cool and useful project.
Thanks for looking and I look forward to working with you!
