- Description
- Reyes Wine Group (RWG) provides industry consultancy for a wide range of wine businesses including wine production, importation, purchasing, and specialized wine education. We are seeking a GIS Analyst for a short-term, but important project for a Napa winery client to help evaluate prospective vineyard planting sites in response to climate change.
Candidates with 2+ years of experience in GIS technology (in particular, ArcGIS Pro) in a professional setting are preferred. This person will work closely with RWG staff to analyze & evaluate several small California wine regions to help inform decisions involving new-vineyard planting sites. Since real-world implications for our client will come directly from this project, the Analyst’s ability to engage and report accurately, independently, and strictly following the timeline is essential.
The Analyst will be able to perform the following duties:
* Integrate complex spatial databases and sources, such as soil, climate, hydrography, etc.
* Develop integrated and interactive maps within specifically targeted California sub-appellations using ArcGIS PRO to interpret desired attributes.
* Facilitate the knowledge transfer to current RWG associates. This component is crucial to enable our associates to interact with and interpret relevant maps and project results with the client.
* PLUS: Experience using public GIS databases such as CalEnviroScreen, FRAP (CalFire), CALWATER, California Geoportal, etc.
* Ability to efficiently manage tasks and responsibilities.
* Key technical experience should include ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, and SQL Server.
