Drummer for Unity VR project - texturing, lighting, optimization

- Not being new to 3D modelling, but fairly new to Unity (a few weeks in), I need assistance in texturing the drums you see in the attached screenshots, and optimizing several other aspects of the scene to look good and run well in VR.
In order for me to be able to continue the work myself, your work has to be done on my Windows 10 device via remote control. So this is going to be mentoring at the same time.
On the image "drums-total-cymbal-texture-attempt.jpg" you can see my attempt of texturing one of the cymbals. Though the used texture is actually much more detailled and needs proper positioning via UV Editing, which I am not familiar with how that works.
Also, we have to find a way to make the metal bars and rims and screws of the drums look much more bright and shiny. The attached file "drums-metal-rims.jpg" shows a close up view of the metal parts.
Please see the file "metal-rims-reference.jpg" for reference of how bright and shiny the metal parts need to look like. I am not sure whether this can be achieved by changing the material properties, or by adding more lights, or both.
Since the app is going to be a VR app (PC VR), which has special performance requirements, I also need advice on how to optimize the project regarding lighting - like which lights can be baked, and which should be realtime - the same for shadows - and what else needs to be done in order to optimize for VR.
In the best case you are not only a Unity and VR developement expert, but also a drummer yourself experienced with real drums. So you can better judge which material and lighting properties have to be applied.
Though being a drummer is not a critical requirement for applying to this job, but please mention it in case it applies to you.
