- Looking for a dynamic person who is whip smart, quick on her/his feet, enamored with technology and marketing and interested in working from home, approximately 10-20 hours per month. This will be a good fit for you if you are already doing other virtual work and you're looking for immediate steady work as well as additional "on call" work as needs arise.
We are a digital marketing agency that specializes in empowering small and growing businesses by creating digital marketing campaigns including Web sites, social media, email marketing, SEO and online advertising. Our President, has written extensively for Inc. magazine and has spoken at hundreds of events around the country and partnered with companies like Microsoft, JP Morgan Chase and Columbia University to help deliver small business content. We've worked with clients as big as Mars chocolate and as small as a 1-person clothing retailer and everything in-between.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who has experience as a highly organized Account Manager, Executive Assistant or Office Manager and who is excited about bringing big business expertise to help small businesses grow.
Our Project Manager is a critical and highly appreciated player on our team who assists with the many facets of our growing business.
Responsibilities:
- respond to incoming inquires from potential and existing clients, press, students etc.
- coordinate speaking engagements
- take notes during client and team meetings to generate lists of decisions and todos and distribute after meeting
- get project details from client, decipher & explain projects to team members, establish deadlines, time estimates and deliverables
- keep track of outstanding items and follow-up with client and team members as necessary
- track and report on budgets weekly and flag any problems with meeting budgets and deadlines
- document processes so that they can be replicated and understood by new team members
- proactively make/suggest changes to processes where possible to improve efficiency and quality
- help to manage client relationship, help them stay them on track and clearly explain and guide them through our process
Qualifications - must:
- be solidly independent - you own your time and your work product
- enjoy working from home (or from the beach!)
- be a people person - people like and respect you and consider you fair
- be good at resolving issues, problems, mistakes and differences diplomatically and positively
- be an *extremely* proactive communicator (this one is important, extroverts encouraged to apply)
- be *extremely* detailed (obsessive ok :o) and have a lot of pride in your work
- be a stickler for proofreading and double checking all work - all I's dotted, all T's crossed
- be proactive about clean, user centered design/layout - as in "this needs to be moved 1 pixel to the left" and communicating to the team when a process/button/placement/color doesn’t make sense from a user perspective and finding ways to fix it
- be extremely comfortable with excel and working with calculations to track budget and team hours
- be extremely responsible, responsive and efficient
- make deadlines (this is critical)
- own a private computer with broadband Internet access - shared computers not feasible
- be online and easily reached by phone from 9am-5pm (flexible)
- respond to emails within 2 hours
- have experience working virtually
Experience managing projects is required.
Experience with virtual project management is preferred.
Experience with technical project management would be lovely.
